how to burn money fast
Podcast advertising.
It sounds so promising, doesn't it?
"Reach a highly engaged audience who trusts the host!" "Get your message in front of perfect potential customers!" "Benefit from the intimate relationship between podcast hosts and listeners!"
Totally bought into that pitch a few years back.
I identified three podcasts in my niche with decent listenership numbers.
Paid for ad spots on all three.
$3,000 total.
And I was PUMPED.
I created special promo codes for each podcast so I could track performance.
The ads ran. The hosts read my copy. They sounded enthusiastic.
And the results?
A trickle of site traffic.
Zero sales.
Not a single one.
I checked my tracking codes to make sure they were working.
They were.
People just... weren't buying.
Looking back, I realize my approach was fundamentally flawed.
I was treating podcast advertising like traditional media.
But here's what Tomer Hen taught me: The power isn't in the ad spot. It's in the RECOMMENDATION.
There's a world of difference between:
"This episode is brought to you by Brand X..." (advertisement)
And:
"Guys, I've been using this product for weeks now, and I'm obsessed..." (recommendation)
One is a transaction. The other is a transfer of trust.
In Tomer's upcoming workshop, "Your Dream 50 Advocates," he's going to show you how to stop paying for advertisements and start earning genuine recommendations.
He'll teach you:
How to identify influencers who have REAL influence (not just followers)
How to approach them in a way that gets them excited about your product
How to structure win-win relationships where they're incentivized to drive actual sales
Had I known this approach back then, I could have saved thousands and potentially made tens of thousands.
(And I gladly would have paid much more than $59 for the info.)
Tomer’s workshop is happening on Wednesday, May 28th at 12PM EST.
This stuff works on all channels, including Instagram, TikTok, X, even LinkedIn (shudder).
You can get the details along with some initial training from Tomer through the link below:
Until then, Greg
P.S. $59 for this workshop is an absolute steal. I've seen courses teaching far less for $997+.
