More valuable than time=money

Most people get stuck on time = money.

Today I want to show you an alternative.

Relationships = money.

I’ve said this before, but a business fundamentally requires two things:

1. Something to sell

2. Someone to sell to

Once you’ve got #1 in place, the next step is making your first sale. 1 relationship = 1 sale.

After you figure that out, the next step is selling your thing to more people. 3 relationships = 3 sales.

If your thing is any good, you’ll probably sell more things to more people. 3 relationships = 9 sales.

Now it’s starting to look like a real business.

But let’s be honest.

The “people to sell to” thing is hard work.

The question is, are you doing “linear” work or “leveraged” work?

Linear work is putting in X effort and seeing Y result. An increase in effort gives a linear increase in results.

Leveraged work is like putting in X effort and seeing Y² results. An increase in effort gives an exponential increase in results.

The way to do this with relationships is to find audience leaders who will help you sell many things to many people, like this:

See how in this case, 3 direct relationships = 27 sales?

That’s leveraged work.

Those relationships are 3-9 times more valuable than the relationships we started out with.
